Monument record MDO41862 - Medieval hollow way, Little Pamphill, Pamphill

Banked curvilinear features at Little Pamphill are visible on aerial photographs. The features may be part of a medieval hollow way. They may be associated with a further section of possible medieval hollow way 211m to the west (MDO41862). The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Scarped curvilinear features at Little Pamphill are visible on aerial photographs (1).

The features form two curvilinear lines that run broadly parallel to each other between 5m and 20m apart and extending on a broadly E-W axis along the north bank of the River Stour for a distance of over 172m.

The features may be part of a medieval hollow way. A further possible section of the hollow way is also visible on aerial photographs 211m to the east (see MDO41861) (1).

The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery. The features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
