Summary

A possible post medieval extractive pit at Tadden is visible on current Lidar imagery. The feature comprises a lozenge-shaped smooth-sided 60m long hollow in a field to the northeast of Tadden Cottages. It may alternatively be a modern feature of uncertain origin. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A possible post medieval extractive pit at Tadden is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The feature comprises a lozenge-shaped smooth-sided 60m long by 21.7m wide hollow in a field to the northeast of Tadden Cottages. The north side of the feature is faintly visible on a 1947 aerial photograph (2).
It may alternatively be a modern feature of uncertain origin.

The feature was digitally plotted from current Lidar imagery by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
