Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit on the west side of Kingston Lacy Park is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature comprises a semi-circular scarped depression approximately 64.8m long by up to 40m deep and open on its west side where it abuts a historic trackway. A smaller sand pit is recorded at this location on the OS 1st Edition map (2).
The feature was digitally plotted from current Lidar imagery by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
