Full Description

Irregular ditched and banked linear features to the southwest of Kingston Lacy Park are visible on aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-2).

The features comprise three irregular linear ditches and banks on a SW-NE alignment, extending for approximately 370m. The features appear to extend below a historic field boundary of possible post medieval origin, recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). They may be be post medieval extractive pits.

The site is still fields under crop on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer evident. They were digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
