Full Description
Linear ditched features to the north of Barford Farm are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (1).
The features appear to form a partial sub-rectangular enclosure 44.4m by 47.5m; the northwest side is not visible. The enclosure is situated adjacent to numerous linear earthworks (MDO41692) visible on current Lidar imagery and potentially late prehistoric in origin. It is also situated around 630m east of a probable Iron Age to Romano-British settlement (MDO41687). It is possible that the enclosure is broadly contemporary with these features, most likely Iron Age or Romano-British in date.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
