Summary

Two parallel banked features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1954 to the north of Great Barrow. They are considered to be a trackway or field boundary of post medieval or medieval date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

The probable site of a Second World War military camp is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 on what is now Peter Grant Way, Ferndown (1). The site is approximately 100m by 100m in size with evidence of roadways and slit trenching. The site was built over by a school and youth centre by 1966. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
