This name may date from the time when the burial mounds were visible. Folklore sometimes attributes Bronze Age barrows to the work of fairys. Ring ditch visible on aerial photograph CUAP AXM64 but no earthwork survives on the ground. This is the western central barrow of the group and has an estimated diameter of 20m.
