Monument record MDO41663 - Bronze Age round barrow, New Barn Farm, Shapwick

A probable Bronze Age round barrow to the southwest of New Barn Farm is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

A probable Bronze Age round barrow to the southwest of New Barn Farm is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise a central sub-circular mound approximately 24m in diameter, contained by a 1m wide outer ditch.

One of two ring ditches visible on aerial photograph CUAAP AXM59, approximate diameter from photograph 25m. This is probably a Bronze Age round barrow levelled by ploughing. Nothing is visible of the site on the ground.
