Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit to the southeast of St Mary's Church, Sturminster Marshall. The feature comprises a 55m long by 36m wide irregular hollow in the centre of a field. The feature is visible on a 1946 aerial photograph (RAF 1946) and is still clearly defined on current Lidar imagery (Environment Agency 2015).
The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
