Full Description

Scarped linear features on open ground at Corfe Hills, Corfe Mullen, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise two closely set scarped linears, approximately 51m long and on a broadly SE-NW alignment. The features are situated on an area of open ground recorded as heathland on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features may be historic trackways of probable post medieval date although they may alternatively be natural in origin.

The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
