Summary

Parallel ridges and ditches in a small narrow field at Corfe Mullen are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are slighty irregular in form and are set closely together at just over 2m apart. They may be cultivation marks of medieval or later date but may alternatively be post medieval drainage ditches. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Parallel ridges and ditches in a small narrow field at Corfe Mullen are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are slighty irregular in form and are set closely together at just over 2m apart. They may be cultivation marks of medieval or later date but may alternatively be post medieval drainage ditches.

The site is under a modern housing estate on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
