Full Description
Parallel ridges and ditches in a field at Cogden Elms, Corfe Mullen, are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The features comprise broadly parallel N-S aligned banks an ditches situated within an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose slightly sinuous boundaries are likely to be predominantly medieval in origin (2). The features may be historic cultivation marks, possibly those of medieval ridge and furrow.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
