Full Description

A small post medieval extractive pit on open ground to the southwest of Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1-2).

The feature comprises a sub-circular shallow pit approximately 4.7m long by 3.8m wide. The feature sits within a wider area of post medieval extraction on the open heathland.

The site is under trees and vegetation on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
