Full Description
An area of post medieval extraction on open ground to the southwest of Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-4).
The features comprise a wider area of shallow surface extraction, with some smaller areas of deeper extraction surrounding this. The extraction extends over an area around 283m by 120m.
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still visible in places. Some also show clearly on current Lidar imagery (4). The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
