Full Description
A post medieval quarry at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises an irregular scarped depression 127m long by 47.7m wide and relatively deep at its centre. It is situated on open rough ground in the fork between two roads , with housing development already encroaching on its south and east sides by this time (1).
The site is under an area of trees within a modern housing estate on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
