Full Description
A small post medieval extractive pit at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature is 22m long by 9m wide and is situated on open rough ground as recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2) on what was still open rough ground 1947 (1).
The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
