Full Description
A banked curvilinear feature to the south of Lambs' Green, Corfe Mullen, is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature is broad and curvilinear in form. It is situated within an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose sinuous boundaries are likely to be medieval in origin (2). The feature extends between the northwest and southeast boundaries of the enclosure and may also be a historic field boundary of possible medieval origin. Alternatively it may be an earlier boundary feature, potentially of late prehistoric date.
The feature was digitally plotted from current Lidar imagery by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
