Summary

An Old Gravel Pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st Edition map at the northern end of Parley Common to the south of what is now Petwyn Close. It is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1954 and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

An Old Gravel Pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st Edition map at the northern end of Parley Common to the south of what is now Petwyn Close (1). The hollow is 23m across and visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1954; it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP (2). The site is not visible on lidar imagery and may have been levelled.
