Full Description
Two small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1954 on heathland under what is now Ferndown Golf Course (1). The hollows are 14m and 28m across and considered to be the sites of 19th or early 20th century extraction. The features are not visible on recent lidar imagery and may have been levelled during the construction of the golf course. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
