Full Description
A large circular hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on heathland to the south east of what is now Forest View Drive (1). The hollow is 48m across and considered to be the potential site of an historic extractive pit. The feature is no longer visible being under trees and scrub on more recent photographs (2-3) and appears be have been levelled on lidar imagery (4). The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
