Full Description
Ditched linear features to the northeast of Corfe Mullen are visible on aerial photographs (1-3).
The features comprise sections of narrow linear ditches and banks located across a number of post medieval to modern fields and all broadly aligned on a southeast to northwest axis. The majority of features clearly link into adjacent historic drainage channels and/or streams present on the OS 1st Edition map (4).
The features are presumed to be drainage ditches associated with a post medieval drainage system.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery. Some of the features are stll faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
