Full Description
Ditched and banked features to the east of Cowgrove Farm are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The features comprise a low banked mound 18m long by up to 9.8m wide in addition to two ditched linear features, possibly historic trackways as they appear to link into a historic E-W aligned trackway recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). Adjacent to the easternmost of these possible trackways is a sub-square ditched hollow of uncertain interpretation but possible contenders may be a post medieval animal pound or a post medieval extractive pit.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
