Full Description
A low banked linear feature to the south of Cowgrove Farm is faintly visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The featureis broad and slightly curvilinear in form. IT is situated within a large irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose curvilinear boundaries are likely to be medieval in origin (2). The feature broadly aligns with part of the southern boundary, and also with additional linear features (MDO41484) to the west, also visible on current Lidar imagery and potentially contemporary.
The feature is considered likely to be a historic field boundary, possibly of medieval date, although a later origin is possible.
It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
