Full Description
Banked linear features at Corfe Mullen are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The features are broad and rectilinear in form. They are situated within a large irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map whose sinuous boundaries are probably medieval in origin (2). The features align on a more regular, and probably later, field boundary adjacent to the west and are considered likely to also be historic field boundaries, probably of post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
