Summary

A low sub-circular mound in a field to the southwest of Cowgrove Farm is visible on current Lidar imagery. The feature is considered likely to be a Bronze Age barrow. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A low sub-circular mound in a field to the southwest of Cowgrove Farm is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The feature comprises a low sub-circular mound approximately 26.7m in diameter. It is considered likely to be a Bronze Age barrow; ther is a barrow (MDO32416) situated 125m to the northeast of this feature, with a possible further barrow (MDO41455) situated between these and just 55m distant.

The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery; the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
