Full Description
A low sub-circular mound in a field to the northeast of Lower Barford is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature comprises a low sub-circular mound approximately 36m in diameter. It is situated towards the south edge of a historic enclosure whose W, E and N boundaries are likely to be post medieval or later in origin. This suggests probable post-medieval intake of an area of formerly open ground. Given the feature's form and likely location it is considered likely to be a Bronze Age barrow.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery; the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
