Full Description
Ditched linear features to the northwest of Henbury House, Sturminster Marshall, are visible on aerial photographs (1-3).
The features correspond with a historic trackway recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, which also follows the parish boundary line (4). The trackway is visible as a cropmark continuing southwest on the far side of Pool Road (3).
The trackway is likely to be post medieval in origin, although could date earlier - the parish boundary may be a boundary line of potentially medieval or earlier origin.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
