Full Description
A banked linear feature to the west of Henbury House, Sturminster Marshall, is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature is broad and slightly curvilinear in form. It is located in open parkland to the west of Henbury House and extends on a braodly SSW to NNE axis for approximately 180m. It is on the same alignment as a further banked linear to the east (MDO41436). It also possibly abuts a banked linear to the west, also visible on current Lidar imagery and recorded under MDO41439 (1).
The feature is considered likely to be a historic field boundary, possibly medieval in date although a later origin is also possible
It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
