A possible post medieval extractive pit at West Parley is visible as a shallow irregular depression on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The feature measures up to 28m long by up to 22.5m wide and is situated on open ground to the east of New Road, probably formerly part of Poor Common.

The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
