Full Description

Ditched linear features on Parley Common are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1-2).

The features are narrow and linear or curvilinear in form and are set closely parallel to each other on a southwest to northeast axis. They are situated towards the south side of the Common and are presumed to also be trackways, probably of post medieval origin.

The site is still Common on current Google Earth imagery although the features are not visible under the trees and scrub vegetation. They were digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
