Full Description

Ditched linear features on Parley Common are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are narrow and curvilinear in form and they traverse the Common, in some cases linking into trackways still in use on current Google Earth imagery (2). They are presumed to also be trackways, probably of post medieval to early modern origin.

The site is partially Common and partly under Ferndown Golf Club on current Google Earth imagery. The features are still faintly visible in some places. They were digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
