Full Description

A possible ditched curvilinear feature at Longham Bridge is faintly visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The possible feature occupies a narrow neck of land on the south bank of the River Stour where it curves southeast from the riverbank edge towards the edge of a historic field boundary of probable post medieval or early modern date (1). The feature may be a historic trackway of post medieval date.

The site is a sewage treatment plant on Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
