Full Description
Ditched linear features to the southwest of Hampreston are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and rectilinear in form and are located within two historic enclosures as recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. The two easternmost linears appear to link into a small pond at the west end of a post medieval drainage channel, also recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features are presumed to be post medieval drainage ditches.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
