Full Description
Ditched and banked linear features to the northeast of Knighton House are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise two short sections of narrow linear bank that enclose a small neck of land formed by a curve in the Stour River, with a further narrow ditched linear to the west. The features are regular in form and correspond with a straight historic field boundary to the south, recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and probably post medieval in origin (2). The features are also presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date.
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
