Full Description
A banked linear feature on the southeast side of Canford Heath is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature is narrow and rectilinear in form. It is on broadly the same alignment pattern as historic field boundaries to the north, of probable post medieval to early 20th Century origin (1). The feature is considered likely to also be a historic field boundary of probable post medieval to possibly early 20th Century date. The feature is cut by a sub-circular earthwork that is one of a suite of similar features of probable military origin (MDO41240), indicating a pre-1940s date.
The site is still open heath on current Google Earth imagery but the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP
