Summary

Ditched curvilinear features to the west of West Howe are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered likely to be historic trackways of probable post medieval to early 20th century origin. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched curvilinear features to the west of West Howe are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are narrow and curvilinear in form and are situated around the base and crest of a low rise of ground, with some linears interlinking and running from the crest of the slope south ad west towards the base. The features are considered likely to be historic trackways of probable post medieval to early 20th century origin.

The site is under modern housing development on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
