Full Description
Banked linear features on Canford Heath are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise low narrow banks, slightly sinuous in form with some more rectilinear sections. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although their sinuous character may indicate that an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still open heath but under scrubby vegetation on current Google Earth imagery. The features are not visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
