Full Description
Ditched linear features to the southwest of Knighton are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and rectilinear in form and they sub-divide a historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map whose slightly sinuous boundaries may be medieval in origin; its northeast boundary is more rectilinear in form and likely to reflect post medieval sub-division or reorganisation (2).
The features may also be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval to early modern date.
The site is redeveloped as a possible vehicle race track on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
