Please read our .

Summary

Location occupied since the Late Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Excavation in 1982-1983 revealed a deposit of occupation material of Late Bronze Age date. The main feature of the site was a burnt deposit with calcined flint, interpreted as a burnt mound. The remains of a bucket-shaped pot, fragments of red deer antler and a piece of carved shale were found at the centre of the mound. The excavator interpreted this as a riverside occupation site, damaged by later erosion and field boundaries.
