Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit to the southeast of Arrowsmith Road is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature comprises an irregular scarped depression up to 88.7m long by up to 50m wide. It is recorded as 'old clay pit' on the OS 1st Edition map (2).
The site is under tree cover in 1946 (3) and is still below trees on current Google Earth imagery. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
