Full Description

A small irregular ditched feature to the west of Canford Magna is visible on aerial photographs (1).

The feature is very irregular in shape, measuring up to 12.5m long by 7.5m wide. It may be a small post medieval extractive pit.

The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery, with some modern boundary changes and cut by the A31 Wimborne bypass . The feature is visible as a cropmark in 2005 (2). It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
