Full Description
A line of anti tank cubes on the north side of Leigh Road, Wimborne Minster, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise three rows (from east; 15m, 48m and 22m long) of anti tank cubes positioned between the house lines to form a defensive line across an area of open ground on the north side of Leigh Road, with the former railway and a gasworks to the east and northeast. The features may have formed part of a wartime defence line; additional rows of anti tank cubes are visible to the west, southwest and northwest (see MDOs 41027-41031 and 41033)
The site is infilled as housing on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
