Full Description
A line of anti tank cubes to the northwest of Canford Bridge, Wimborne Minster, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise a 71m line of anti tank cubes positioned on the northwest side of Canford Bridge, enclosing a piece of open ground and former fording place on the east bank of the River Stour. The features may have formed part of a wartime defence line; additional rows of anti tank cubes are visible to the north and northwest (see MDOs 41027-30 and 41032-3)
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
