Full Description
Areas of parallel cultivation marks on the Leaze, Wimborne Minster, are faintly visible on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).
The features comprise faint parallel ridges and ditches, the ridges set around 6m apart, the ditches around 2m wide. The cultivation marks occupy and respect two of the southern closes of a deserted medieval settlement (MDO6243). There is a further area of similar cultivation to the west of the settlement ( 1 and 2). The features are very faint and poorly defined but may be those of medieval ridge and furrow.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
