Full Description

Ditched linear features in a field to the southwest of Julian's Bridge are visible on 1950s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise a series of narrow and interlinked rectilinear ditches which extend across the width of a historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, the north and south field boundaries of which are in the form of drainage ditches (2).

The features are presumed to be part of a field drainage system, probably post medieval in origin.

The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery. The features are still visible, particularly clear in 2012 (3). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
