Full Description

A ditched curvilinear feature at Pig Oak is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (1).

The feature comprises a 66.5m wide by 27.3m deep semi-circular ditch, potentially truncated along its west side by a historic field boundary. It may be a section of an enclosure of uncertain date, but going on its form, potentially late prehistoric in origin. Alternatively, however, this may be modern agricultural in origin.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
