Full Description
A long irregular scarped depression to the east of Woodcutts Farm Cottages is visible on aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The feature is up to 82.8m long by up to 33m wide and it fills a small irregular enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map where it is filled by trees (3).
The form of the feature suggests a possible post medieval extractive pit.
The enclosure is still visible on current Google Earth imagery, although no longer filled by trees. The feature is also still visible and was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
