Full Description

Ditched and banked linear features to the south and east of Woodcutts Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise a series of narrow ditches and banks that sub-divide areas of the open parkland between Gaunt's House to the southeast and Woodcutts Farm to the northwest. The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. Some features may alternatively, however, be post medieval trackways.

The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and many of the features are still visible; they show particularly clearly on a 2002 vertical aerial photograph (2). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
