Full Description
Banked and ditched linear features to the southeast of Gaunts House are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise a narrow rectilinear ditch and two additional curvilinear banks, one with a corresponding ditch on its south side. The features are situated within parkland associated with Gaunt's House and may be historic field boundaries of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery. Th e features are not generally visible although the largest of the curvilinear banks may be visible in the year 2005 (2). The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
