Full Description

Banked and ditched linear features at Green Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise a series of curvilinear and rectilinear banks with corresponding ditches situated to the east of Green Farm. The features sub-divide a number of irregular historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, and whose curvilinear boundaries indicate a possible medieval origin (2). The y are presumed to be historic field boundaries of potentially medival date, although a later origin is also possible.

The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery and some features remain faintly visible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
